Where lemon peel appears on the Breathe label
The current Breathe label lists lemon peel inside a 550 mg proprietary blend. The label gives the total blend weight rather than an individual amount for lemon peel. That matters because dose is an important part of interpreting ingredient research.
FDA labeling rules permit proprietary blends to list the blend total while listing component ingredients underneath. A consumer should therefore avoid assuming that an amount used in a published citrus study is the amount present in Breathe.
What lemon peel contains
Lemon peel is the outer portion of Citrus limon fruit and contains aromatic oils, fiber and several classes of plant compounds, including flavonoids. Laboratory and nutrition research frequently examines citrus flavonoids, but results depend on the compound, preparation, dose and study population.
Research about citrus compounds is useful as biological background. It should not be rewritten as a claim that a proprietary supplement has the same effect.
What the evidence does — and does not — show
Published citrus research spans food chemistry, antioxidant activity and other areas. Much of that literature is not a clinical test of lemon peel as used in Breathe, and it is not a trial of Breathe itself. For that reason, this site does not translate citrus-flavonoid findings into respiratory-treatment claims.
When evaluating citations, look for human trials, the exact preparation studied, the amount used and a relevant health outcome. Test-tube or animal findings can be hypothesis-generating, but they are not the same as demonstrated benefit in people.
Practical safety context
Botanical ingredients can cause sensitivity or interact with individual health circumstances. Anyone with citrus allergy, a medical condition, pregnancy or nursing status, or medication use should discuss a new supplement with a qualified healthcare professional. The Breathe label also states that the safety of the product has not been determined.
